A Special Session

You may or may not remember this post awhile back announcing my brother's engagement.  I am the photographer for their wedding in Jamaica, and I am SO STOKED about it!  A week in Jamaica sounds amazing!!

Anyway, this past weekend, we had their engagement session, and seriously, it was a blast.  We had such a good time, and I don't think I offended them my bossy demeanor (I hope anyway!!)  So, I wanted to share some of the photos for you all to see.   There are some hilarious 'outtakes' that I'll be sharing in the next week or two, so stay tuned for that hilarious goodness.

Aren't they adorable?!

It was really overcast right before we set out to find some different locations, and as soon as we started, the sun came out and gave us this gorgeous, warm, sunset lighting.  I found some awesome new locations I want to use for future sessions as well, so this was win-win-win!

Happy Thursday, peeps! Have a fan-freaking-tastic Thursday!  After today, I have 5 glorious days off from work! Whoop whoop!  Can you tell I'm a bit excited?!

BYE BYE! ;-)

I Don't Know How I Did it All

This last Saturday, we had 8 sessions.  Yep...8!  Some of them were mini-sessions that had been rescheduled due to crappy weather, but still....it was busy! Saturday we pretty much had back to back sessions all day, and we didn't finish until after 8pm.  Sunday, I had two sessions in the morning.  It was such a busy, fun, productive, stressful, tiring and wonderful weekend. :-)

I have finished editing some of the sessions, so here are some pictures for you all to peruse.

This little man is getting SO big!  He is such a doll. :-)

I haven't seen this little lady since she was a newborn.  Now she's 6 months old!  She is such a gorgeous little girl. :-)

These girls were a blast!

This family was a ton of fun.  The little girl did NOT want to smile for me, at all.  The scrunchy faces are still super cute!

This couple was so adorable.  The groom-to-be was all about the snuggles, kisses and flirting, which makes my job a breeze!

Notice the rival shirts they were wearing?!  I loved it!  I can't until their wedding next month. :-)

That's all I'll share for today.  I have a few more sessions to share, but, I'll save them for tomorrow or another day this week.

Happy Wednesday, peeps!

Tuesday Topics: 10 Things That Make You Happy

Today, I'm linking up with two of my favorite girls, Lauren and Tiffany, for Tuesday Topics.  But, before we start this party, I want to send a HUGE congratulations to Tiffany on the arrival of baby boy Elliott.  He is absolutely adorable!  Congratulations girl! :-)

Also, because these two are covered in awesome-sauce, they are hosting a give-away at the end of this round of Tuesday Topics, just as a way to say thanks for participating.  Awe, you guys are fabulous!

Life. Love.Lauren
Today's topic is 10 things that make you happy.  Easy, peasy!

{Ryder}
This little man brings me so much joy and happiness.  I can't imagine a life without this little dude. <3

{Darren}
Where would I be without this man?  He is wonderful, funny, smart, and so much more.  He makes me happier than I ever thought I could be!

{Our family}
Need I say more?

{Photography}
I am so happy and lucky to be able to do what I love.  Especially for my family.  Here is one picture from my brother and Kinzey's engagement session.  Love these two!

{Our fur babies}
We have two cats and two dogs, and they are just like our children.  Here are three of our fur babies...I couldn't find a picture of our other kitty.

{Our friends}
We have some amazeballs friends, and being able to spend time with them is like talking an instant happy pill. :-)

{Movies}
Watching movies, talking about movies, and really, anything about movies in general makes me happy.  Our DVD/Blu-Ray collection is a bit ridiculous.

{Carbs}
Pasta and breads are my downfall.  But, I love them, so that makes it OK in my book. :-)

{Reading}
I love to read whenever I get the chance.  It helps wind me down, and I love getting lost in a good book.

{Cooking/Baking}
When I have the time to devote to cooking/baking, it is unbelievably satisfying, and such a mood lifter.  I love spending time in the kitchen!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Mother's Day Weekend 2013

Although we were busy with sessions this past weekend , Mother's Day was still good to me. Darren was a doll and did the dishes and laundry, and got me a few gifts from him and Ryder. :-)

I have to touch on one of the gifts he got me:  the DVD "Magic Mike."  I laughed pretty hard when I opened it up, because that didn't strike me as a movie a husband would buy his wife for Mother's Day.  He said it was in the Mother's Day DVD section, so he figured why not.  I still haven't seen it....any good?  I heard you can see Matthew McConaughey's butthole in it....is that true?!  HAHA!  Not that I would want to see it, but, really?  Woooowww......

We had a small cookout at my parent's house Saturday evening.  We had just come from a session, so I was actually able to grab my camera and snap a few pics.

He loved watering the flowers.  He carried that watering can around for a good 15 minutes.

Darren and dad, watching the grill...enjoying beers...you know, doing "man" things.

Hey there stud. ;-)

Ryder loves running around with his aunt Kinzey.  :-)

I guess he just needed to lie down for a minute.

Nevermind, he's ready for more play time.

Inside joke, but long story short, my dad makes this face and expression on purpose as a joke.

I crack up every time. :-)

It had been awhile since I had taken any sort of flower picture.  I wish the sun would have been just a bit lower, but I still think it's pretty.

Love him. <3

Darren told me an interesting fact:  heroes are sometimes photographed or filmed at an upward angle.  Villains are the opposite, and are somtimes filmed or photographed at a downward angle.  So, of course, he determined this picture depicted him as a hero.

This is his "heroric face."  I guess we'll just go with it.

Yep, there's the face I normally get when I have my camera out.

I hope all of you mommas out there had a great Mother's Day! :-)
